Nightly Group Training VS Summer Camps

Summer camps can cost anywhere from 400$ to 1,000$ for one week of camp.

Summer camps are typically long days of unstructured play rather than properly coached and specific training.

Although you get lots of hours per dollar, the training is far less in quality as there is no real education being provided, the ratio of players to coaches is low, and all the training comes in a singular dense, exhausting, and unengaging week. Player and coach burnout as well as player injury are much more likely.

Weekly Training, although slightly more expensive per hour, provides a much more focused experience where the training sessions are coached with specific and intentionally designed curriculum.

Progress in learning is a function of exposure over time, and having weekly sessions ensures players are recovered between and engaged for each session.

Players will get much more instruction and individualized feedback with more time spent interacting with coaches.

Who?

There will be 18 total spots for 2016-2014 birthyear girls. There is no required level of play the only requirement is effort and passion.

Training Content

The program will be broken into two, 1-hour long training segments, with the goal of developing fundamental skills for the health and performance of any youth athlete in conjunction with producing improvement in the young athlete’s foundational soccer skills and gameplay understanding.

The first hour will be athletic development. Warmup, priming activities to encourage core stability, balance, and coordination. Non-Ball speed and agility, running mechanics, acceleration and deceleration, change of direction. Soccer technical training; high repetition and intensity training focusing on fundamental soccer skills; dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, and tackling.

The second training segment will feature small sided games and competitions related to that days technical topic. We will finish with full sided games that will be coached as if they were competitive matches. Each "game" will feature a different formation and playstyle given by the coach, players will be challenged to play out these tactics in different formations and positions every week to challenge their decision making, problem solving, and expand on their game understanding. Parents are welcome to come to the field for pickup early, at 7:30, to watch the matches and cheer their players on.
